So I’ve had camera in hand numerous times since my last post. But this thing called the career managed to get in the way. So here I am, trying to get caught up on some much needed posting of shots.
Sepulveda Pass Fire
I managed to squeeze off a few shots while commuting down the 405. By the time I got there, the fires were mostly out. But the helicopter drops were still a sight to see…

An active water drop on the west side of the 405.

A water drop along a southern ridge with the heavy equipment.
The day of the dead
So Halloween has come to pass. But I must say, that evening presented one heck of a skyline.

A view from outside of the house looking towards the West.

A shot off of Pacific Coast Highway near Topanga State Beach.

I couldnt get over the color tones of this shot taken looking North from the sidewalk in front of my house.
So there you have it, some recent shots for your enjoyment.

Shot at a local strip mall. Just having fun with the camera as usual.

And of course, the new self portrait that tells alot about the author…
This was composed from the bathroom of the Disneyland Hotel in downtown Disney. There was a nice little shaving mirror that had a cool fishbowl type of distortion to it so I played with the aperture and decided to let the white balance do it’s thing.

This is the part of the photographer that they want you to see. Nothing more!

It may be called the happiest place on earth, but boy I’ll tell you, it can sure tire your legs and feet. And after 36 hours of nothing but Disneyland, that is exactly what happened to my feet. But at the very least, I managed to snap a few great pics. Take a look! These pictures were from Friday night in California Adventure which was closed and only permitted folks in who had bought the special Trick or Treat tickets. Needless to say the kids loaded up on sugar. Here are a few shots from around the park at nightand a few shots I took while wandering around Disneyland and near the Disney Hotel.

Those photographers have it fun. I’ve come to really enjoy shooting pictures from behind a camera, and recently I’ve upgraded from the standard Point and Shoot to a Digital Single Lens Reflect (DSLR) camera. So far, I’ve only had a few opportunities to break it out of its bag and shoot some shots. But after finishing up a “spring cleaning” in the fall, I decided to grab some shots of stuff around the front yard.
Not everything came out the way I wanted it to, but what did come out looking ok, I’ve shared with you here. I’m still learning the features of the camera, and there are a bunch of them. But at least I’ve managed to venture from the automatic mode into Shutter Priority and Aperature Priority modes to get some interesting shots.
Those that did make the cut for this sharing session happened to be all flowers. But that is what I get as subject matters when I let my wife have control of the front yard.
Enjoy!

Welcome aboard my commentary corner on the web. Here I get to complain, rant, spew whatever it is that lands on the tip of my brain or just go on and on about random crap. Doesn’t it sound like something you want to be a part of and read? I know it sounds so wonderful, the way I’m dressing it up and everything.
Well enjoy. There will be much more to come. Just try and shut me up.
